FareShare Cymru and The Great Donation Drive

At ICC Wales, our commitment to reducing food waste is an integral part of our sustainability movement. We aim not only to minimise our environmental impact, but also to contribute positively towards the well-being of our communities in surrounding areas.

FareShare Cymru

FareShare Cymru is a Cardiff based charity that uses quality, in date surplus food which would otherwise have gone to waste and they turn an environmental problem into a social solution by delivering food to Community Food Members (CFMS) – homeless hostels, Community centres and refugee centres.

The CFMS use the food to make healthy balanced meals to support vulnerable members of the community and at the same time, they save money on food costs and use this to help pay for vital support services.

ICC Wales is working with event organisers to ask their delegates to bring and donate food through our non-perishable food donation point which our team will co-ordinate to ensure that this worthwhile local charity benefits from the generosity of our visitors and feeds our local communities.

Join Our Great Donation Drive

Help us nourish our community and make a meaningful difference to those in need by participating in our collaborative effort to gather non-perishable food items in your office as a team. We invite you to join “The Great Donation Drive,” an initiative designed to support local families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

As part of this initiative, ICC Wales is proud to partner with FareShare Cymru. Together, we aim to ensure that surplus food reaches those who need it most, creating a positive impact on our community.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Organise a Collection: Set up a designated area in your office where team members can contribute non-perishable food items. Spread the message far and wide in your office, the more hands helping the better.
  2. Gather Donations: Collect items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and other non-perishable foods. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference.
  3. Schedule a Pick-Up: Once your collection is ready, we’ll arrange a convenient time to visit your office and collect your generous donations.
